WTF is tinribs?

/tɪn rɪbz/

A Scottish nickname for the Anglo-Saxon surname Ironside.

I’m Siobhan Ironside and this is my digital portfolio. Tinribs encompasses my creative work across the disciplines of architecture, design and fine art.

I studied architecture at the University of Strathclyde, having grown up in Aberdeen, Scotland. I currently practice as an architectural assistant in London, while continuing to explore various types of fine art and design outwith work.

Prior to studying architecture, I was particularly interested in portraiture. I practiced portraiture in various media, focusing heavily on tonal variation largely through graphite pencil studies, but also In oils and acrylics.

My background as a musician has led to my interest in the interdisciplinary nature of the arts, and how architecture is a necessary component in this. I’ve explored this through a process of observing performance through documention of physical activity, visualising it, and translating it architecturally.
